Turns out that BPA was useful
When I bought some stuff for my survival kit at Eddie Bauer, it came with a 1L water bottle, which is also pretty useful. Being new, it was of course BPA free. Turns out that BPA was a critical feature.
I dropped it once, and it cracked.
