Netflix Culture Presentation

I saw this a while ago on DarwinCatholic's blog, but I cannot for the life of me find the page. I thought this was a really interesting presentation about an attempt of a corporation to encourage high productivity without burning out it's employees.

There is very good judgment and wisdom shown here, and I enjoy contrasting Netflix's policies with my current employer. One immediate difference is that making such a blunt contrast between hourly and salaried associates would be verboten. Everyone is first and foremost an associate.

There are some interesting similarities though, such as the "Act in Netflix's best interests" freedom principle. This reminded me of the waterline principle, which is you are free to make most decisions, unless you are going to put a hole below the waterline, and potentially sink the ship.

Many of the differences come down to being in different industries, but I still found this worthwhile.
