Michael Flynn takes the name of Darwin in vain
Mike Flynn got bored, so he decided to increase traffic to his livejournal by taking the name of Darwin in vain.
Looks like it worked. =) He quotes David Stove, who was an Australian philosopher of the grumpy old man school (I mean that as a compliment). Stove was a ruthless exposer of poppycock in philosophy, of which there is always plenty to be exposed. There is a certain tendency to create 'Just-So' stories about the evolution of a given trait that incensed Stove to humorous result.
In a six-degrees-of-separation kind of thing, Jim Franklin is the literary executor of David Stove's works, so I suppose that makes me only 3 degrees from Stove myself. Well, three-and-a-half.
