This looks like complete BS, but I think it isn't, anymore than your typical Discovery Channel show. As my friend Tom pointed out, some of those may have involved more than one take, but still!

It is funny to me that the Japanese have preserved the variety show long after it died out in America. This is pretty typical of Japanese TV. I saw a lot of TV shows like this one.
