Vindication

Joe Carter over at First Things shares my estimation of Ulysses by James Joyce. I am gratified to see that more people are willing to call a spade a spade. The only point on which I might disagree with Mr. Carter is that the Bible is admittedly able to be pondered and dissected by experts at great length, the difference between that book and Ulysses is that quite ordinary people have enjoyed the Bible and found meaning in it without the need for ridiculous erudition.

F x Googolplex indeed.
