    Job Searching

    Internet

It is wise to keep in mind that searching the Internet doesn't really constitute looking for jobs. It is too passive, and the chief difficulty is sorting through all the possibilities to find something good [both for you and for employers]. It remains true that networking and personal contacts are very helpful for getting the jobs you want.

However, there are reasons to use the job search boards, so here are my favorites:

    Indeed
A job search aggregator, it also has some salary information. I like Indeed because it grabs jobs from so many places [so many that you often get duplicates], whereas when you use Monster or Hotjobs, you miss out when a company uses one but not the other.

    Glassdoor
Glassdoor is primarily oriented toward salaries and company reviews, but it provides links to jobs as well. This is useful because it collects information on which companies are known as good places to work, which can help guide your job search.
